Are you lonesome tonight?
Basil is the most laid back 10 yo fella you will ever meet. He would ideally like someone who wants a companion. He is not a kitten and he is not a lap cat. What he is, is a wonderful companion to make you less lonely. He is a sensitive guy but is the perfect housemate.
The perfect family would have a well secured yard and if you have a patio where you like to sit and have tea (or wine) and read or just soak in the outside ambience he will LOVE the company! He can be a chatterbox but he will listen to all you have to say and never tell anyone else.
Do you like to take short slow walks around the neighbourhood? Basil is harness trained and will be your walking companion.
Basil has been the lone feline in an apartment however he did live with other foster cats before coming to his current foster home. On his walks, he has encountered many different dogs. Basil would be most comfortable in a pet free home as he can be a bit possessive of his people. He has met dogs on our walks that he just wanted to leave behind. Not sure whether it is size or colour or breed. He has a real aversion to large black dogs (possibly from a not so nice encounter earlier in life). He does show some interest in young children but likely would not want them cuddling him.
Due to years of not getting regular vet care, he has lost a couple of teeth. He prefers to lick food rather than chew. To help him, he has been put on a raw diet. He loves it! Basil, as many older gentlemen do, will need someone who is committed to ensuring he gets regular vet visits to keep an eye on his kidney function. Ideally these would be done at Southern Animal Health in Cheltenham who have done all of the tests to get him to his health peak and have all of his records.
