The lovely Jade came to Forever Friends in Winter 2020 with her friend Andy after being surrendered by owners who had struggled to feed the many horses in their care. With love, good health care and a regular supply of food, Jade turned the corner and has blossomed.
During our interactions with Jade, we have found that she likes to be handled by caring humans. Records indicate that she was a trail riding horse at some stage and so she is happy to be handled on the ground and tied up. We have found that she walks well on the lead and she’s cooperative to lift her feet for cleaning and inspection whilst in the paddock. We have spent quite a bit of time on her horse float training and she floats well now. Jade is sound in the paddock and a great companion to the other horses in the herd.
Approximately 15 hands high, we have re-started Jade under saddle and she is progressing very well.
As a Thoroughbred, Jade will require hard feed during the winter months to keep her condition. She’ll also require appropriate rugging and shelter.
Jade’s forever home will be ready to love and care for her – both mentally and physically. They’ll need to give her lots of physical interaction and gentle exercise and guidance to keep her physically and mentally fit. She has shown a lot of potential during her time with us and we expect that with the right owner, she will continue to blossom and enjoy her life.
Jade’s health checks, teeth, worming and feet are up to date.
Are you Jade’s Forever Friend?
