FOREVER FRIENDS ANIMAL RESCUE
WHO WE ARE
A registered charity run by animal-loving volunteers
Founded in 2011, Forever Friends Animal Rescue is a registered charity run entirely by volunteers that rescues and rehabilitates the most vulnerable animals in our community – the abandoned, abused, elderly and sick. From dogs and cats to rabbits, former racehorses and farmed animals, our 700+-strong volunteer team works tirelessly, seven days a week, to save lives.
Based in Victoria, we are now one of the largest animal welfare organisations in the state. We differ from shelters in that all of our rescued domestic animals are taken in by our dedicated volunteer foster carers to be rehabilitated in their own homes, under the guidance of our expert team.
Forever Friends Animal Rescue’s mission is to save and transform the lives of homeless, neglected and abused animals in our community. We achieve this by:
Providing foster care for animals facing death-row in pounds and shelters, and surrendered animals, until they find safe and loving forever homes.
Ensuring that all animals in our care receive comprehensive veterinary treatment and/or behavioural rehabilitation.
Enhancing the human–animal bond by improving the quality of life of our animals, and those that foster and adopt them, with the gift of companionship.
Advocating for more humane and progressive animal welfare legislation Australia-wide.
Operating a rural rehabilitation sanctuary for domestic and farmed animals.
It’s a team effort. We couldn’t do what we do without the amazing people that make up our rescue community.
